Here in England we're starting to see more and more signs of Spring.

There are splashes of yellow from the daffodils, pinks and white of cherry blossom, and beautiful melodious bird song. Their joyful singing drifts through the air as they sit amongst the bud covered branches.

Nature at its finest.

Then there is the song thrush whose song fills my garden from dawn to dusk. This particularly vocal bird has mastered many different sounds, mimicking the many other bird songs from the surrounding area.

If only this talent of mimicry stopped there. Incorporated in this particular bird's song (rather annoyingly) are manmade sounds including sirens, alarms and squeaky gates!

Part of me marvels at the talent of the bird, but another (perhaps larger) part wishes I could turn his volume down - especially when he wakes me up first thing in the morning!

This piano improvisation was inspired by the skilled (yet annoying) song thrush who has taken up his Spring residence in my garden!
